+1s and links

+1s and links

I’m sure I have read about this in the past, but now (when I know I want to learn about it) I can’t find anything (and I don’t know what to search for).

If someone +1s a text only post, I assume that the +1 gets associated only with the post.

If I share a photo, I assume the photo gets the +1 

If I link to an article/video etc and the link comes up in the summary, does the G+ post get the +1 or the article/video?

What happens if I share a photo but also link to an article? What gets the +1?

How about G+ posts with lots of links?

I am sure this has been discussed lots of times, but as I said, not sure what to look for!
