After far too long, I’ve written a new article for my blog!
Are you addicted to browser extensions? I definitely am! Over the years, I’ve discovered some amazing extensions that enhance my productivity and effectiveness, and I thought it was time that I share them with you.
There are so many to discuss, but in this article I am going to discuss 10 which I think you will find very useful.
Can you live without them? Well, technically, yes- you will still live! However, they are going to make your online life easier and help turbo boost your productivity!
1. Friends+Me Chrome Extension. This is a brand new tool (it’s just come out today). I was honoured to be part of the small beta testing team together with Mike Allton. I have to say, Alois Bělaška has produced a truly amazing tool here which integrates with the web app, Friends+Me. It enables you to share content as you browse the web. It works very similarly to Buffer and allows you to post content to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tumblr, app.net and Google+ posts. You can cross post selectively and it does so in an intelligent manner. See my article for more information.
2. MightyText an extension that integrates with your Android device (sorry, iOS users). It allows you to receive and send texts and calls via your phone through your browser. It has some other very cool features
3. Buffer – I think most people have heard of Buffer, so need I say more? A very easy to use extension that allows you to cross post content to your social media empire!
4. Riffle – Presents you with very detailed info on any Twitter user within the Twitter website. Really useful!
5. CircleCount shows you more information about a user including their ranking, number of +1s, reshares, location and interest tags
6. Evernote *Web Clipper* – sends a snapshot of an article to Evernote. Just wonderful!
7. Sidekick from HubSpot – It’s a powerful tool that alerts you when recipients have opened your email and from where and from what device. It also gives you more information on person- their professional history, their location, mutual contacts and email history.
8. RiteTag helps you be seen more in Twitter by displaying the popularity of hashtags in real time. I’ve just discovered this and it is very useful.
9. Klout – I know some people ridicule Klout, and I’ve sometimes done the same. However, it does have its uses. This extension displays users’ Klout scores directly within Twitter. Very easy to use.
10. Circloscope – just an amazingly powerful tool, and I can’t do it justice in a shortish post. Circloscope allows you to manage your Google+ circles and followers. It also integrates with another tool that I’m going to recommend called NOD3x (hi John Dietrich !)
So, what extensions do you use? Let me know- I am all ears!
