Are You a Cross Poster? Yeah, Me Too!
I didn’t get the answer I was looking for in a HO I sat in on earlier today so I went hunting to find expert content and sources like this piece that explains how and why cross posting to FB, LI and Twitter is perfectly fine (and not spammy) given the right set of circumstances.
Circumstance #1 ♦ You own a small business so its a pretty safe bet the audience you seek and appeal to on FB, Li and Twitter have the same online persona and demographics as your Google Plus Circles? If that’s not the case, click away because this model isn’t for you.
Circumstance #2 ♦ You don’t have the time or interest in crafting a separate “unique” message for each social channel (FB, LI, T) and since your post on G+ is useful and appropriate to your Circles, its highly likely its appropriate for your other top social channels.
Circumstance #3 ♦ If you follow the 5-3-2 formula, then on those occasions when you’re sharing a personal image or story, then all you need do is add hashtag [ns] to your G+ post to prevent Friends+Me from cross posting to these other socials channels.
In the old days, I would use IFTTT and other api type automation tools to help me amplify my SMM efforts. Nowadays, I take the time to craft my G+ posts (like this one) so when it shows up on my FB, LI and Twitter channels, its as relevant and useful there as it is here.
