Wow, love this! What’s your passion vertical? All businesses should do this!

Over the past year I have been fascinated about rethinking business ethics and business environments. What motivated us add people or businesses in doing what we do? How can we improve things?

One of my primary focuses this year is to grow my business, but another focus that is even more important is putting my family first. As someone once said-“no one on their deathbed has wished that they had spent more time at the office!”

How about improving your life? How about improving you? How about having a passion vertical?

A massive thanks to Juliana Payson who shared this! It couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I am off out this afternoon to think and plan through my strategy for 2014- for my life and business.

Thanks to the wonderful Mark Traphagen for bringing it to my attention. He always shares quality posts!

What’s your Passion Vertical?

Last week our team had a biz dev retreat in Vegas where we focused on how to improve our unique propositions both as individuals and relay that into something that fits together as a very special team!

I wanted to put forward something very grown up and say ~ This is what I want to do! in order to take the reins to steer my future the way I wanted to see blossom in the next few years.

It takes balls which is a new step for me in my own personal development. Having the assertion to say what you want, and lay down the track to get there is a new change in me, and not just a January resolution.

I can say I’ve not felt this solidarity or team leadership ever before, [and I mean _before _ Steady Demand] and just having the courage to seek fulfillment in my career and trust that I can express that to my associates, has been truly uplifting.

We all cottoned onto the idea. Everyone expressing in turn where they wanted to be in 2 or 5 years time. And so we coined the term “Passion Verticals”

If you could manage any company or niche you wanted, what would it be?

For me due to dramatic life changes, and shifts in my perspective over how to take care of myself, my family, and communicate those things, it would be the following things:

Lifestyle – I’ve made it my objective to live well. Any brand that resonates with lifestyle from luxury to family oriented products will definitely peek my interest.

Designer-Makers – Having owned two luxury avant-garde boutiques for wedding attire and unique designs, and still continuing as a master of craftsmanship today, I very much empathize and appreciate artisan perspectives.

Science – I’m one of the Facebook fans of “I fucking love science” – somehow the beauty of logic, patterns in nature are not just luck but constructed from math. Research companies that seek to unlock the codes of design will always resonate with my engineering degree background.

Healthcare – I’ve been through major hip surgery, and recovered at a miraculous rate thanks to amazing surgeons, and learning how to take better care of myself. The medical field will always continue to inspire me to help others take better care of themselves.

Photography & Lighting – since I camera assist, and lighting assist on my Husband’s lighting instruction classes and archival photography.

Film Production – since I was costume designer and head of costume for a feature film segment as well as the second largest carnival in the UK. Which encompassed everything from budget control, logistics, resources all choreographed to tight deadlines.

Obviously this was a real personal insight as to how I’m thinking about what I want to do in the future. Read more about me, and the rest of our team here:
