Damning Review of Empire Avenue- is it the economy of bribery?
This is probably the most open and refreshing takes on Empire Avenue I’ve read. If you’ve used Empire Avenue or have heard of it, do read it.
I’m on EA myself and will continue to use it, but I totally agree with the article in the way Empire Avenue breaks the social web. It’s easy to create a mission to ask people to like and share your content in exchange for virtual currency. I’ve also seen many examples of people posting low value content and boosting them with missions just to increase their share price. It’s not that far from social spam.
I will continue to use EA, there is a good side to it. It’s a great way to invest in people I respect and to have a bit of fun. But like most things, it needs to be used responsibly.
