Send interesting articles to your Kindle every day

I intend to write an article going into more detail about this, but I thought I’d briefly mention it now. I got a Kindle last weekend and I’m loving it. I am so glad I went for the Keyboard 3G version as it comes with free worldwide 3G for browsing the web as well (the new Kindles don’t allow you to browse the web on 3G apart from the Kindle store and Wikipedia). I know browsing the web isn’t a great experience on the Kindle, but it’s more than enough to cope with Passwords on Last Pass, bookmarks on Pinboard etc.
Also there is the way you can email documents to your Kindle using your @kindle.com email address. I use the @free.kindle.com email address as this ensures that documents are only delivered to your Kindle over wifi and so avoiding Amazon’s charges per Mb. I wanted to find a way of sending articles that I find interesting to my Kindle easily. So I found a way!
I subscribe to loads of blogs on Google Reader. I also get them on my phone using NewsRob (which uses Google Reader). All I need to do is star the article and at the end of the day all the articles that are starred come through to my Kindle. Cool, eh?
It’s quite easy. First you get your RSS feed of your starred articles. Then you use this at kindlefeeder.com. Unfortunately Google Reader only gives you an Atom feed which kindlefeeder.com doesn’t like, so you have to convert it. I used feedburner.com for this- just make a new feed out of your starred feed. Then use Kindlefeeder to send you the latest starred articles. It comes through really nicely, all formatted and easy to navigate. I decided to go for the pro version which allows you to set up a schedule so that I get my latest articles at 8pm every day. The pro version also gives you all the pictures too. Not bad at $20 per year.
Hope you find that helpful!
