Change your eBay password now – Security Breach!

Change your eBay password now – Security Breach!

If you haven’t already heard, eBay announced that there has been a security breach and are recommending all users reset their password.

If you are using the same password across multiple sites, then my recommendation is to change those passwords to. It is good practice and highly recommended to use a different strong password on all your sites. This is why a password manager such as LastPass make your life so much easier and secure!

It doesn’t look as if PayPal is affected, so you should be ok, but it wouldn’t harm to change your password for PayPal as well.

edit to show the steps to change password:

eBay don’t exactly make it easy to change your password and there is no message on the home page to say there has been a breach. Anyway, to make it easy, here are the steps to change your password:

1) Log in

2) Hover over your name on the top left of the screen

3) Click on Account Settings

4) Click on Personal Information under My Account on the side navigation

5) Click the edit link to the right hand side of password on the right

6) You may be prompted to enter your current password- enter that

7) You can now change your password
