Do you lack discipline? I often do. Have you got tips on how to get up early & start the day positively?

Do you lack discipline? I often do. Have you got tips on how to get up early & start the day positively?

I’ve recently come back from a 3 week holiday (or for any Americans out there- a vacation!). I know 3 weeks is rather decadent, but there have to some advantages in being self employed. The disadvantage is of course I don’t get paid for my holidays, but that is another story…

One of the big advantages in going away is just stopping. It took me a whole week to get in to that mindset. How often do we just stop and not feel the need to have to do something. It allowed me to spend time with the family and enjoy beautiful weather and surroundings. However it was due to slowing the pace of life that gave me more room to think, and now that I am back to work, I don’t want to go back to the way things were.

I’m not really a morning person, but I’ve found that (if I can get up) working early in the morning before the kids get up is a really productive time. The problem is the process of getting up! Do you have any tips?

My plan is to get up so that I can be at my desk for 6am. I then want to have a quiet time so I can pray and write down my thoughts, prayers, plans and other things in a journal. I’ll probably use Evernote for that.

Sitting down with a coffee and some kind of breakfast might help. I was also wondering about the possibility of some kind of accountability- it is so much more encouraging when you are in this with other people.

Anyway, I’ve just written down my thoughts and apologies if it has ended up being a long bit of jibberish, but if any of it resonates with you, let me know!
