Finding Red In Iceland
As a follow-up to my posting while traveling in Iceland, I’ve now added this image and backstory to my website portfolio and other web-sharing locations.
Having chased Aurora a few years ago in Alaska, I learned a few things along the way. But even with that experience, I had still never seen the warmer reds of the northern lights, only the greens. Of course, I don’t mean to complain or anything but I just kept this in the back of my mind as I got ready for my recent journey to Iceland.
I had read a little while back that you can often spot them by looking around in different directions for a cloud that appears darker to the naked eye. If you see that, shoot a picture in that direction to check the color. It can certainly be just a cloud but in some cases, it can indicate some red Aurora activity…
