Hi CircleCount

Hi CircleCount,

I know you’ve been doing some scripting to do some cool stuff with ello. I wondered, what language do you use? Is it PHP or something else?

I’m not sure if you have delved into ello’s terms and conditions, but I came across a bookmarklet which automatically adds everyone on a page to your noise stream. So, for example, if I was to view your followers or friends I could click the bookmarklet and it would add everyone who I wasn’t already following to the noise stream. I didn’t write it, but I modified it so that it ignores people who are in your friend stream. It adds a delay between each follow so it’s not going to bug ello’s API

I’m not sure what I think about this- it’s a bit of a moral grey area. It reminds me of the early days of Twitter. What do you think? If you want more info on it, I’ll give you the script and tell you how it works.

I’ve posted the code on PasteBin here – http://pastebin.com/hXjSneAT

Ignore the first bit- that’s just the full Javascript code. You’ll need the bit at the bottom. Copy the javascript bookmarklet (the bit that begins with javascript:) and then save this as your bookmarklet code. The easiest way is to bookmark any page, put this on your booklet bar and then edit the url and paste in the code.

Let me know what you think.

Ian
