How do you find engaging content? 20 Experts share how
With so much content out there, how do you find content to share that cuts through the rest? Sure you can subscribe to the likes of Mashable, The Next Web and The Verge but just about everyone else is doing that too!
My thoughts were included in this article by +Henley Wing entitled “20 Experts On Finding Engaging Content to Share”. I use feedly every day to find and share some interesting content. Over the years I’ve built up a big list of RSS feed subscriptions to websites that I enjoy and respect. I then share these to my various social networks using a combination of IFTTT and Buffer I’ve also started using Friends+Me which allows me to share content I find on Feedly to all my social networks by posting on Google+. This allows me to have a better presence on Google+.
I’m a massive fan of Triberr (the brain child of Dino Dogan ) which is probably my favourite curation tool. I’ve got some fab people in my Tribe and I share their content daily (and they in return share my content- if they like it of course!)
I wanted to mention edocr.com which has similarities with SlideShare- a social network of documents and there are some great ones to share (the CEO of edocr, Manoj Ranaweera is a rather nice chap!).
Since we’ve mentioned Buffer, we may as well mention that it also has a curation feature. If you’re stuck for content to share, Buffer has some recommendations for you. The same goes for Klout although I tend not to use that much myself. I’ve also used +Scoop.it which can work well.
Another tool I’ve used for years is Commun.it @Commun_it which as well as being a wonderful social media relationship management tool for Twitter allows you to easily share great content from your community. Check it out.
I also use other tools that help in my social management including ManageFlitter , twtrland, DoShare, MailChimp and LastPass. What tools do you use?
Anyway, check out the article and also check out BuzzSumo (Henley, the article author is the tech lead). It allows you to “identify the most shared links and key influencers for any topic”. It’s not a tool I’ve checked out myself yet, but I like the look of it so far. You can see more at http://buzzsumo.com/
