It has to be said, Friends+Me is one of my favourite social media tools this year. I only selectively cross-post, but doing so from Google+ makes me post there more often and allows me to be more active in LinkedIn groups…

However I think there could be more improvements. I’d love to know what Alois Bělaška thinks!

I’ve taken a screenshot from my LinkedIn updates to give an example. On the whole, I think Friends+Me does a really good job of posting intelligently to different social networks. However I think it could be improved in LinkedIn.

I always include a title in Google+ (by making the first line bold). I would have thought that F+M would use this as the title in LinkedIn, but as you can see in the first two examples, that isn’t the case. If fact, it looks a bit of a mess. Why has this happened?

Secondly, I don’t understand why my custom bit.ly URL shortener has been used in some of them, and the fplus.me one shows in the others. I’ve also noticed this in Facebook too.

Thirdly, hashtags. LinkedIn doesn’t support them, and to be honest they look out of place. It would be great if there was an option to get F+M to remove them. I know that might be a bit tricky, because sometimes people post inline, but since we are using hashtags at the end of the post to tell F+M which networks to post to, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a difficult job to do that.
