My new phone- the Google Nexus 5
Since I managed to crack the screen of my Samsung Galaxy S3 I’ve been wondering about upgrading my phone. I’ve been fed up with Samsung for a while and wanted to have a phone without the bloatware that mobile phone carriers and mobile phone manufacturers seem to think I want. My wife, Helen Gray, got a Google Nexus 5 some months back and I was very impressed with it. It is a relatively inexpensive phone with some impressive specifications.
I was wanting to hold out until November this year to see if a Nexus 6 was going to come out or perhaps one of the new Sliver Progam phones or even try and get a OnePlus One phone (if I was ever lucky enough to receive an invite), but I decided enough was enough.
Not only had I smashed my screen, my Samsung Galaxy S3 had almost ground to a halt after I ran the latest system update. It was becoming an incredibly frustrating experience. So now I have my Nexus 5. OK, it’s not got an external SD slot and I can’t change the battery (which are both points that I still feel strongly about), but other than that it is a stunning phone.
The screen is gorgeous and full HD. Not only is it the pure Android experience, I’ll always have the latest edition as Google push it out to me. It’s unlocked so I can use it on any network and it is a good size.
So, what is your favourite phone?
