Pedantic Friday: Why specifically so we advocate learning to be a Social Media “Rock Star”?

It seems all the rage for social media training courses, hangouts, webinars and blog posts to teach you the art of becoming a social media (or in fact anything else) “Rock Star”!

Call me pedantic (and it is #PedanticFriday, a hash tag I have just made up for personal amusement and in the vague psychological and pathetic attempt to see if it goes viral), but why restrict this to the Rock genre?

What do you think? Any mileage in any of this? I think we should all join together and take a stand against this musicist attitude! There is to music and indeed social media than just rock music!
