Twitter & Twimailer- lost access to Twitter account. Help!
I set up a Twitter account back in 2009 which hasn’t been used much. Back in the bad old days there used to be a service called Twimailer- http://twimailer.com/ which sent you more advanced email notifications on the people who followed you. I say the “bad old days” because in order to do this you had to change your email address to a Twimailer one.
Well, Twimailer ceased to exist a long time ago, but I am afraid to say this passed me by. This is a big problem because I can no longer access the Twitter account as the password I am using doesn’t seem to work. I could reset my password, but this email goes to my Twimailer email address which presumably goes nowhere.
I’ve emailed Twitter, but as you can imagine they are far from helpful. They say they can’t do anything because they want to protect their customers’ accounts from hackers. The issue is, this is my account, and it’s going to lie dormant for ever more. I suppose I could ask them to close the account due to inactivity, but I am not sure how I do that. Has anyone got any ideas?
