What is your wishlist for WordPress themes and Plugins?
I’m a massive WordPress fan- it’s powerful and flexible to use- for beginners and hard core developers. The way you can add functionality to the core by installing plugins is fantastic but I do try and keep an eye on the number of plugins I install. Too many can slow down your website.
Ian Cleary wrote a fantastic article on the best plugins to use and Ileane Smith is following this up with a wish list. What is your wish list?
The plugins I use across most of my WordPress websites include- – Gravity Forms,
– Better WP Security,
– EWWW Image optimizer (to optimise images added to posts),
– HTML5 Boilerplate .htattess,
– Imsanity (resizes uploaded images to reduce super large images to manageable size),
– Jarvis (cool WP assistant),
– Regenerate thumbnails,
– W3 Total Cache,
– WordPress SEO (by Yoast)
I’m also quite interested in the premium plugins by Joost de Valk including Video SEO, Local SEO, and SEO Premium.
How about you?

Lately I’ve noticed an increase in the number of blog posts mentioning the favorite plugins that popular bloggers use.
I contributed to two of those type of group posts already this year myself. The first was by Ian Cleary and the second was from Devesh Sharma
Nearly 100 bloggers in total shared our favorite plugins and in fact, many bloggers are actively searching for more plugins to install on their WordPress blogs.
In the latest episode of my podcast, I share my WISH LIST for the features you should look for in a really good “feature rich” theme that can help limit the number of plugins you need to install. Find out why I switched to a more “lean” WordPress theme like Genesis along with a child theme from Appendipity.
