Do ads only work when they have attractive people in them? Sergey Brin certainly thought so
This quote from Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, caught my eye. I came across it from the book I’m Feeling Lucky: The Confessions of Google Employee Number 59 by Douglas Edwards.
I don’t like the concept, but is there any truth to it? Isn’t “attractiveness” a subjective thing? Although I really don’t like it, I fear that it is true. Why do most magazines have stereotypical “attractive” people on the front cover? Why do adverts always seem to have “attractive” people in them. Why do we spend time getting decent photos of ourselves for our social media profiles- ones that try and make us look as “attractive” as we can?
